On 22/6/2021, an extension to the list of harmonized standards to the Low Voltage Directive (2014/35/EU) was published in the European Official Journal (OJEU).
It should be noted that most standards that are replaced by an extension or a new standard only have a transition period of 18 months until the presumption of conformity ceases. This affects some household appliances that are subject to parts of the EN 60335-2-xx series of standards. There are (11) amendments to standards (annexes/extensions) from 2018 to 2020 included in the list.
Annex III (Annex 1B) of the implementing decision is also interesting. Here, (38) standards are listed retroactively. That is, the presumption of conformity applies from various dates in 2018. In fact, the standards were already listed in Official Journal "C" 2016. Although the OJ has 14 pages, the number of new standards or their new annexes is manageable.
With this publication, the backlog of standards yet to be published has been reduced, but not yet reduced. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any further questions.
