Wireless communication is encountered in more and more areas of daily life and is now used in a variety of ways by all age groups. The application of the Radio Equipment Directive 2014/53/EU is therefore essential for more and more products to be marketed successfully.
The correct interpretation and application of the Radio Equipment Directive is the focus of this almost 300-page technical publication by the radio experts Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Michael Loerzer und Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Volker Bartsch. The distinction to other harmonization legislation such as the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC or the ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU as well as the topics of combination products or the handling of radio modules are also dealt with in detail. Readers are given fundamental guidance on dealing with harmonized standards and conformity assessment.
As the radio sector is a very good example of the limited impact of CE marking outside the European Economic Area, the authors have also added a chapter on the global requirements of radio equipment, showing the different market access requirements in selected other countries.
Unfortunately, the book is only published in German.
