The EU Commission has updated its "RoHS 2 exemptions - Validity and rolling plan". This documents the current status of the RoHS exemptions. After various exemptions expired in July 2024 and some new extension applications were submitted, a new version is now public on August 6, 2024.
The following differences to the last version (September 2023) are recognizable
- No longer valid
- 50 further expired and non-renewable exemptions; mainly affect categories 9 industrial, 8 in vitro and 11 with the expiration date July 21, 2024

- Valid - no longer renewable
- Annex III - Exemption 39(a) for all categories until November 21, 2025
- Annex IV - exemption 37 for all categories until December 31, 2025

- Annex III - Exemption 24 for category 11
- Annex IV - Exemption 49 for category 9
- New exemptions (Valid)
- Annex III - Exemption 39(b) for all categories until December 31, 2027
- Annex III - Exemption 46 for category 11 until May 28, 2028
There is no update regarding the validity of 114 exemptions for which an extension was requested in good time ("Valid - requested for renewal" status). These include Annex III exemption 6(a)-(c). New in the August 2024 version is the column "Last date of submission", which shows the last receipt of renewal applications.
