Chile: New Mandatory Certification Requirements for Specific Electrical Products

High-pressure Cleaner, Water Cooler, Cooling Units and Switches

The Ministry of Energy of Chile has passed two new resolutions regarding the mandatory certification of specific electrical products which shall be brought to market in Chile on December 11th 2018. The resolutions have come into effect on December 28th 2018. They require that for the following products a certificate of conformity of one from the Electricity and Fuel Regulatory Authority of Chile approved certification bodies has to be provided:

  • high-pressure cleaner (2,5 to 35 MPa)
  • hot and cold water dispenser
  • portable cooling units
  • automatic switches for domestic use
